Jonno Proudfoot and the Real Meal Revolution team have launched a series of Awesome Weight Workshops for fellow Revolutionaries around South Africa.

The aim of the workshops is to teach Real Meal Revolutionaries how to:

  • Achieve their Awesome weight quickly and without compromise.
  • Save money by avoiding expensive supplements and medication.
  • Conquer the weight-loss plateau and other dieting pitfalls.
  • Discover non-food-related weight-loss techniques for their daily routine.
  • Enjoy previously taboo foods while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

At the Real Meal Revolution, we believe our minds are one of the most powerful tools we can use to achieve our goals. Weight loss is a goal, just like any other. In these workshops, Jonno explains that the reason and the way one sets a goal can be the difference between failing or achieving it.

Participants are introduced to ‘The Summons’ methodology, which plays an integral role in Banting 2.0’s approach to goal realisation. To illustrate this point, Jonno uses his experience from swimming 459kms between Mozambique to Madagascar as a practical example of the steps required to implement ‘The Summons’. For the swim, the way he set this goal ensured that there was no way he could back out of it, even if he wanted to. That is a large part of why the ‘The Summons’ is so effective.

Each workshop participant is coached through calculating their Awesome Weight and setting their own weight-loss goals. Following this, Jonno walks through each of the four phases of Real Meal Revolution’s new handbook, Banting 2.0. Each phase is presented as a how-to guide, designed to assist in achieving one’s specific health and weight loss goals.

Jonno says: “The benefit of all of the research that has gone into Banting 2.0 is that Banters can now pin point the exact date on which they can expect to arrive at their ‘Awesome Weight’. This is paramount to effective goal setting.”

He goes on to explain, “As we have discovered, there is so much more to weight loss than initially meets the eye. Each individual is unique, and so any approach to weight loss is not simply a one-size-fits-all. One can lose weight initially by eliminating sugar, gluten and refined seed oils, but to guarantee success, Banters need to pay attention to lifestyle as well as gut health.”

Banting 2.0 evolved organically from the original book as the Real Meal Revolution team discovered the experiences of the users who tracked their data in our official Online Program. We learned how and why people were Banting, where they were struggling and through this, we were able to answer the call for a step-by-step approach. We learnt through our users, that the phases Banting 2.0 already existed and it simply our job to document and package them.
